Thanks to the thriving leisure economy of the 1990s, Palm Springs is fashionable

Mountains in the heart of the town is The Viceroy Palm Springs. Originally a 1930s
bungalow desert inn, this elegant contemporary gem is a boutique resort that captures the dramatic modern Regency style popular during Hollywood’s golden age and Palm Springs’ original era of glamour.

The hotel’s look is snappy retro-chic with a predominant colour palette of clean white with black stripes and splashes of bold yellow and persimmon. The hotel’s mascots, a sleek pair of white whippet statues, welcome guests at the entryways to the pools and private villas. Within the chic interiors of the villas and the hotel’s deluxe rooms there are ultra glam custom-designed fabrics and wallpaper, and rugs with bold geometric Greek key and organic leaf patterns. Kelly Wearstler of KWID has created a very unique, eclectic, and relaxing oasis in the California desert for this Kor Group hotel.

In keeping with this tranquil theme, she has used crisp white drapery indoors and
out to create a sense of privacy and staed sensibility. Most studios have exposed beam vaulted ceilings, private or conjoined patios, and very large walk-in showers. Frette linens and bathrobes are some of the amenities that include custom beds with down comforters. All the accommodation at the Viceroy Palm Springs feature sitting areas, fireplaces, refrigerators, and private furnished terraces.

This four-acre property boasts three outdoor heated swimming pools, and the rooms and villas are designed for seclusion but easily accessible to the three courtyards, beautifully manicured lawns, and all the hotel amenities.

One of the favourite services here is the imaginative Estrella Spa – a luxurious oasis featuring 10 treatment rooms, including three massage rooms (one exclusively for couples) and four outdoor massage cabanas with one for yoga. There is also a fitness centre, steam showers, and a relaxation lounge.

We cannot mention this boutique hotel without giving kudos to their delightful
restaurant and bar, Citron. A, stylish and hip atmosphere pervades through this intimate space, with a terrace perfect for dining on their eclectic menu of progressive California creations. The bar area is a vibrant lemon yellow with cool white furnishings and contemporary calm lighting that match the desert setting perfectly.

The Viceroy Palm Springs is close to all the shopping boutiques, golf courses, and
restaurants in the main town and it definitely offers the contemporary traveler a tranquil and elegant experience in the beauty of the California desert.
